I Have a Podcast!

I’ve been obsessed with creating a podcast for the past six months or so.  I love talking to creators within the post-apocalyptic and dystopian genres… authors, film makers, musicians, and actors.  Up until now, it’s all been done by the written word on this blog, but I started thinking, “What if I could actually just sit and chat with these folks?”.  I love that a podcast brings the listener into the conversation as though they’re sitting in the room.  I’m hoping to achieve just that.

Well, the day has come.  I finally knuckled down and did it.  It hasn’t been without its obstacles.  I tried going the cheap/easy route and just throwing them up on youtube.  That ended up becoming more of a hassle than anything (namely due to the fact that trying to do things on the cheap when you’re as tech-illiterate as me is a disaster waiting to happen).  It just wasn’t going to work for me, so I decided to bite the bullet and go with Podbean as my hosting site.  I’ve been absolutely pleased with it so far.

I’ve already spoken to two people within the postapoc genre – Ron Welch and Joshua Gayou – and have the episodes up and running.  Only two so far, but look for more soon.

One thing that was holding me back was the fact that I was not going to be able to adhere to a strict schedule.  My plan is to release an episode about once a month.  That may become longer or shorter as time permits, but I am very excited about bringing you the creators whose work I have come to admire over the past few years.  The podcast will be peppered every once in a while with episodes of my wife and I and other friends nerding out over such topics as The Walking Dead and the latest SciFi movies/TV shows we’ve watched.

You can find me on Podbean, iTunes, Google Play, and most other podcast players.  Just look for From the Wastes.
